Parasites are ever present in toxic environments. They take advantage of the host’s body when the immune system is weakened by poor food and lifestyle choices. (1)
The immune systems can become woefully taxed due to busy lifestyles and overindulging. This can happen regularly, not just during family celebrations and national holidays. (2)
This overwhelm can cause the immune system to break down and have trouble protecting and defending the body when confronted with pathogens that threaten overall wellbeing. (3, 4)
Parasitic infection is far more common than the average person realizes. Most people believe and are under the erroneous impression that individuals can only contract parasites by living or visiting countries with poor water treatment or by eating undercooked meat. (5)
Besides contaminated drinking water or meats, parasites can come from insect bites and bore into the skin. Even family pets can transfer parasites. (6, 7)
People can become infected through everyday activities like gardening, swimming in a lake or creek, or on a weekend hike. (7, 8)
It’s extremely likely that people have been exposed to and could be hosts to these parasites. To eradicate them from the body, people can do a parasite cleanse.
Unfortunately, the modern-day eating habits of the vast majority of people can make completing a successful parasite cleanse much more challenging.
Parasites and Sugar
Parasites directly depend on their host for their nourishment and protection because they cannot make their own food. These pathogens worm their way into our bodies, make themselves at home, and rob the host of their energy sources. (9)
Parasites steal the nutrients the host consume not just to feed themselves, but also to lay eggs and take over more territory in their host. They do not stick to one organ either. Parasites can travel to all organ systems, including the brain. (10, 11)
Wherever parasites travel, they create dysfunction and disease in those tissues. The normal bodily processes are disrupted and health can swiftly decline. This is all the more reason to take action against them with an effective parasite cleanse. (12)
Parasites use sugar as their primary source of energy, and they cannot survive without a steady supply. Parasites use amino acids and fatty acids in the creation of their eggs, but for their energy, they use sugar. (13)
If their energy source is removed, eventually they won’t be able to reproduce.
In order for your clients to accomplish a natural parasite cleanse, they have to create an anti-parasitic environment depleted of what gives parasites energy. (14)
This may be difficult for your client because patterns and lifestyles in the United States and across the globe have evolved to include staggering amounts of sugar.
Sugar: The Silent Culprit
The United States ranks number one in average per person sugar consumption at a whopping 126.40 grams per day. That is the equivalent of over 30 teaspoons of sugar for every man, woman, and child in the country. (15)
Besides providing an ideal environment for parasites, high sugar consumption comes with a frightening list of other potential diseases and side effects. (16)
The most obvious outcome of excessive sugar consumption is obesity. For example, in addition to being number one in sugar consumption, the obesity rates in the United States are among the highest in the world. (17)
Sugar consumption and obesity have a direct correlation. The beverage of choice for the vast majority of people is soft drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) and is the leading source of added sugar in the American diet. (18, 19)
A one 12-ounce can of soda contains eight teaspoons of sugar, or 130 calories. Most drinks that accompany a fast food or restaurant meal are much larger and are often two or three times the size of a can. (20)
Those sugar amounts aren’t including the breading, dips, and sauces that harbor much more sugar than most people realize. Hidden sugars in commercial salad dressings, cereals, and sweetened yogurts advertised to be healthy are sabotaging even those who are attempting to make better food choices. (21)
A more insidious result of high sugar consumption is the damage to the liver. The liver metabolizes sugar much the same way it does alcohol. Diets high in sugar increase the risk of NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) where fat collects in the liver. This can lead to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis where the liver swells and is damaged. Lowering sugar can help prevent this. (22)
Type 2 diabetes is another danger with excessive sugar intake. The body produces insulin to regulate blood sugar levels to keep them within safe, healthy limits — not too high, not too low. Chronically elevated sugar levels exhaust the pancreas to the point it cannot keep up with the demand to produce insulin to keep blood glucose within the safe parameters. (18, 23)
Eventually, a person not willing to reduce dietary sugar will have to take insulin in order to control their blood sugar concentrations. The result of chronically high glucose levels is damage to the brain, heart, kidneys, nerves, and can even result in diabetic coma. (24, 25)
What Not To Eat
During a parasite cleanse, the number one thing clients need to avoid is sugar as much as they can. Artificially colored cereals, cakes, candy, and cookies are obvious sugar sources. But as stated above, there are some seemingly healthy foods with high sugar content.
Everyday foods are loaded with sugar, not including the actual holiday foods people indulge in during special events that have an even higher sugar content. Not only does sugar intake escalate, but the intake of fiber and nutritious foods plummet when replaced with sugar-laden food sources. (26)
When sugar is the priority food, the body can also begin to crave sweets, causing people to reach for them even more. This increased sugar dampens the immune system, which can lead to further health issues. (27)
Besides commercial dressing and sweetened yogurts, a surprising amount of sugar can be found in additional foods.
Eating for Health
If patients have made the choice to do a parasite cleanse, they will need more guidance to healthy eating since there are so many hidden sugar sources.
This may be hard for patients, especially for those who are not used to eating without sugar. So, be sure to work with them to remove all the obvious and hidden sugar suppliers in their meals.
They can replace the hidden sugary substances with these food choices:
- Cook up fresh, unprocessed meats and organic eggs for protein sources
- Add green onion or garlic and fresh herbs like ginger, oregano, thyme, turmeric for a burst of flavor
- Create low-carb side dishes, or consider a crisp salad topped with a tangy, homemade apple cider vinegar dressing
- Include coconut oil in food preparation, which has natural anti-parasitic properties
- Reach for crunchy nuts (parasites particularly hate pumpkin and sunflower seeds) or vegetables as snacks.
- Shop at local farmers markets. There are many fresh foods and healthy alternatives that could be cheaper than conventional grocery store options.
When patients swap out the standard sugary choices the parasites are accustomed to for the high-fiber, nutrient-dense ones they are not, these parasites won’t be able to function and survive in the new inhospitable environment. (28)
Because some patients will be making a major lifestyle change, remind them to be patient with themselves during this transitional phase. For a brief time, parasites can revolt because their environment has been changed from habitable to uninhabitable. (29)
This revolt could stir up symptoms and cravings in your clients because the parasites are changing the serotonin levels in the brain, which can trigger emotional symptoms in the host. (30, 31)
When parasites steal serotonin, the body will sense a serotonin deficit, which then signals the brain to eat to create more of the neurotransmitter. Parasites thrive off of glucose-rich blood to function, which can trigger carb cravings in the host. Denying this to them will cause them to fight to survive. (13, 32, 33)
But as your patient’s blood sugar levels start to stabilize and the parasites begin to leave, they will crave these new healthy foods. Since taste buds only live for approximately 10-21 days, as taste buds change, patients will become more discerning in what they want. (34)
While clients are simultaneously eliminating parasites, they will train their taste buds to desire these new health-boosting foods. They may begin to truly desire the foods nature intended for them to eat rather than artificial prepackaged foods that only feed parasites, rob people of health, and suppress the immune system. (26)
Clearing Drainage Pathways
However, the most crucial point in removing parasites is to make sure that the critical drainage pathways in the body are not blocked. Having these pathways clear and flowing effectively is crucial so pathogens can leave the gut. (35)
The additional fiber with whole, unprocessed foods will help clear the drainage pathways and begin to displace the parasites from the body. To maximize the effectiveness, provide extra support with intestinal-moving herbal formulas (such as in Bowel Mover). Combined with Carbon Technology, some individuals may pass parasites with products like these alone. (36, 37, 38)
The lymphatic system also needs support to drain out the pathogens living there since its network is not made out of muscles the same way the intestines are. Parasites can also disrupt the kidneys and liver. Consider having clients also take LymphActiv and KL Support to aid in detoxification efforts of parasites and for all-around health. (39, 40)
Lastly, it’s crucial for individuals to address the biotoxins and wastes left from the parasites after their parasite cleanse. These parasites have produced ammonia and other toxic wastes that cause systemic inflammation and create increased sensitivities. (41)
Unlike traditional binders such as activated charcoal, Carbon Technology has the ability to bind these toxins and has restorative properties to upregulate cellular health as well. It aids in oxygen production and feeds the mitochondria in the cells. (44)
Your patient’s energy levels may improve once these toxic metabolites from the parasites are removed because healthy oxygen and energy pathways will begin to restore. The mitochondria can then function as they were designed to, providing patients with ample energy. They’ll never need those sugary boosts they once used to get themselves through the day. (45)
A Cleanse for Health
A successful, natural parasite cleanse takes time. This also involves some planning and discipline. But the resulting revival of your patient’s detox pathways, energy levels, and health will be well worth the effort.
Eliminating sugar will also help patients avoid some very serious chronic diseases. With all those advantages, a successful parasite cleanse may be the start for long-lasting health.
